# How to create a Solana token without coding

URL: https://www.solz.app/docs/guides/create-solana-token
Create an SPL token on Solana in your browser. Set the name, symbol, supply and logo, then sign one transaction. The Solz service fee is 0.05 SOL.

## How do I create a Solana token without coding?

Open the Solana Token Creator on Solz, connect your wallet, and enter a name, symbol, supply and image. Choose whether to revoke authorities, then click Create Token and sign in your wallet. The full supply goes to your wallet. The service fee is 0.05 SOL, plus about 0.016 SOL in network costs.

## Prerequisites

- A Solana wallet such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack.
- At least about 0.07 SOL in that wallet. Solz checks your balance before it builds the transaction.
- A token name, a symbol, and a square image (PNG, GIF, JPG or WEBP).

To practise first, switch to Devnet with the network selector at the bottom right of the app. It's free to try there.

## Steps to create your token

1. **Open the token creator and connect your wallet.** Go to the [Solana Token Creator](https://www.solz.app/token/create) and connect your wallet. Leave the token type on SPL Token.
2. **Enter the token details.** Fill in Token Name (up to 32 characters), Symbol (up to 10 characters), Token Decimals (6 by default, 9 at most) and Supply (1,000,000,000 by default). Description is optional, up to 700 characters.
3. **Add an image.** Upload a file of up to 2.5 MB or enter an image URL. Square images work best, and 1024x1024 pixels is a good size.
4. **Choose where the metadata is hosted.** Solz is instant and recommended for most users. Arweave is permanent, but can take about 20 minutes to appear. Host your own needs a JSON metadata URL that you load first.
5. **Set Token Permissions.** Turn on Revoke freeze, Revoke mint or Immutable if you want them. They are all off by default, and they add no extra fee here.
6. **Create the token.** Check the cost shown on the button, click Create Token and approve the transaction in your wallet. Solz then shows the new token and offers to help you make it tradable.

## How much does it cost to create a Solana token on Solz?

The service fee is 0.05 SOL per token, and it's the same for SPL and Tax tokens. Network costs are about 0.016 SOL on top. Optional extras change the total, as the table below shows. The Create Token button shows the exact service cost before you sign anything.

| Item | Cost |
| --- | --- |
| Service fee | 0.05 SOL |
| Network fees and rent | About 0.016 SOL, including Metaplex's 0.01 SOL metadata fee |
| Uploaded image over 750 KB | +0.075 SOL (not for image URLs or self-hosted metadata) |
| Custom Creator | +0.05 SOL |
| Host your own metadata | -0.02 SOL |
| Revoke freeze, Revoke mint or Immutable at creation | No extra fee |

Your transaction speed setting also adds a small priority fee, set to Normal by default.

## What should I do after creating my token?

Creating a token only puts it on-chain, and nobody can trade it until it has liquidity. Next, decide whether to give up mint and freeze authority, create a liquidity pool, burn or lock your pool tokens, and then apply for listings. These steps take a new token from a mint to something people can buy.

1. **Decide on your authorities.** Revoking mint fixes your supply, and revoking freeze means you can't freeze holders' accounts. Both are permanent. If you turned the switches on at creation, you're done. If not, each costs 0.04 SOL. See [how to revoke mint and freeze authority](https://www.solz.app/docs/guides/revoke-mint-freeze-authority).
2. **Create a liquidity pool.** A pool is what makes your token tradable. On Solz you can create one on Raydium, PumpSwap or Meteora DAMM v2. Raydium costs 0.24 SOL in fees and the others cost 0.09 SOL, plus the liquidity you add. See [how to create a Raydium liquidity pool](https://www.solz.app/docs/guides/create-raydium-liquidity-pool).
3. **Burn or lock your liquidity pool tokens.** Buyers often check whether the liquidity can be pulled. See [how to burn liquidity pool tokens](https://www.solz.app/docs/guides/burn-lp-tokens), which also compares burning with locking.
4. **Get listed.** Once liquidity is live, your token can appear on Jupiter, Raydium, Photon, DexScreener and similar platforms. You can also apply to CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and Jupiter. Each has its own process.

## FAQ

### What is an SPL token?

SPL is the standard token format on Solana, similar to ERC-20 on Ethereum. A token created on Solz is a standard SPL token.

### Why does Solz say I don't have enough balance?

Before it builds the transaction, Solz checks that you can cover the service fee, your speed settings and a 0.02 SOL allowance for network costs. With default settings that's about 0.07 SOL, and any extras add to it.

### Do I pay the service fee if the transaction fails?

No. The service fee is part of the same transaction that creates the token, so if that transaction fails, the fee isn't charged.

### Why was my supply rejected?

Very large supplies don't fit with high decimals. A supply of 10 billion or more can't use 9 decimals, and a supply above 184 billion can't use 8. Lower the decimals to fix it.

### Should I revoke mint and freeze authority?

It's your choice, and it can't be undone. Revoking mint fixes the supply, and revoking freeze means holder accounts can't be frozen. Read [how to revoke mint and freeze authority](https://www.solz.app/docs/guides/revoke-mint-freeze-authority) before you decide.

### How do I make my token tradable?

Create a liquidity pool for it. Once liquidity is live, your token can appear on Jupiter, Raydium, Photon, DexScreener and similar platforms. See [how to create a Raydium liquidity pool](https://www.solz.app/docs/guides/create-raydium-liquidity-pool).
